An Amazing Life
Robert Felix “Bob” Farrington, Jr. a visionary community planner and leader in improving cities, passed away on Monday after a valiant battle against cancer. Bob was a nationally known figure in urban planning, community development, and economic development, having worked on numerous award-winning and impactful development projects in various cities. Farrington led efforts to create signature events such as the Downtown Farmers Market, the First Night New Year’s Eve celebration, the Salt Lake Music Festival, Downtown Dine O’Round, Live Green, and Lights On!, as well as cultural events as part of the 2002 Winter Olympics.
Bob is survived by his wife Maria Stillman Farrington; sons and daughters-in-law Robert and Erin Ellsworth Farrington of Seattle, WA and Charles and Juliana Vilhena Farrington of Salt Lake City; grandsons Jordan Farrington and Nico Vilhena of Salt Lake City; sister and brother-inlaw Susan and Leon Huntoon of Melbourne, FL; brother and sister-in-law Philip and Mary Farrington of Eugene, OR; nieces Angela Sherman, Alesha Adair, Andrea Haas, and Claire Farrington; aunts, cousins, and great nephews and nieces in Louisiana, Texas, Florida, Georgia, California, and Hawaii; and amazing friends in Salt Lake City and in Texas.

& Celebration of Life
The Farrington family will be having a mass for Bob this Friday at 12:30pm at the Cathedral of the Madeleine in Salt Lake City, UT. A Celebration of Life will take place at Squatters Pub in Salt Lake City from 6:00pm - 7:30pm on the same day, April the 13th.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances can be made by contributing to the Bob Farrington Memorial Scholarship at the University of Utah Department of City & Metropolitan Planning.
